I wanted to give our volleyball team a shoutout for their effort against Lawrenceburg this past week. We lost 3-2, but took the match the distance and fought hard in all 5 games. I wasn’t able to attend, but have heard how proud everyone is of their effort. I thought that should be commended and recognized. Of course we want to win, but to me our sportsmanship and our effort are more important than wins and loses. Effort and class will lead to championships, but our athletes will also carry those qualities with them into life long after the last whistle has blown. Great job Lady Knights - keep up the good work!

The featured staff member of the week is Mrs. Lori Klayer. Mrs.Klayer, her husband, and their three children are proud SouthDearborn Alumni! In addition to her three children, she also has a dog and a cat. For fourteen years, Mrs. Klayer has served in a variety of roles as a paraprofessional at Aurora Elementary School. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking, being outside, andreading. A fun fact about Mrs. Klayer is that she has never been on an airplane nor has she been to Florida. We are so grateful that Mrs. Klayer has dedicated her time and talents to our Aurora Red Devils!

It was great attending the Lady Knights golf match last night. We honored our 2 senior athletes. It was a 3 way match with Milan and Lawrenceburg. The 3 coaches in the event are 3 generations from the Kinnett family; our coach, her daughter, and granddaughter. Coach Jeanne Kinnett was recognized with a 40 year coaching service plaque. She is the most senior coach in the history of South Dearborn. Such a special night and I was honored to be a part of it. - Supt. Ross #GoKnights

Games don’t always go the way you hope, but our team played hard, our cheerleaders rallied the crowd, and our student support was second to none! Win or lose it’s great to be a Knight! 🏈 - Supt. Ross #GoKnights

Mr. Zimmerman is a Holocaust educator and has been afforded some amazing professional development opportunities - including trips to Israel and Poland. He also has a passion for literature. Ms. Baker’s lesson for her students at South Dearborn High School focused on how to cope with anxiety! Students watched a video and took notes on how to identify stressors, set healthy boundaries, and improve their time management. With strong coping skills, there is nothing these students can’t overcome!
